Secretary Leinenkugel to Attend 2009 Jump-Start Awards

Secretary LeinenkugelWisconsin Secretary of Commerce Richard Leinenkugel has confirmed his attendance at the 2009 Jump-Start Awards on August 6, 2009.

His keynote speech will mark the 5th anniversary of the Jump-Start Downtown Business Plan Competition and our effort to bring new business downtown. During the previous 4 years the competition has awarded $30,000, helped 11 new businesses get started, and created 40 new jobs. You can learn the details of the competition here.

$5000 for Best Business Plan and $500 in TV Ads

Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. is again organizing the Jump-Start Downtown Business Plan Competition. The competition is open to any entrepreneur over the age of 18, who wants to locate their business in the downtown area. Prizes include $5,000 in start-up capital and $1,000 scholarship to the Entrepreneurial Training Program. For more details visit the Jump-Start Downtown Business Competition.

Downtown Shopping and Dining Guide!

The 2008 Downtown Shopping & Dining Guide is complete! Featuring categories such as “Wine & Dine,” “Get Pampered,” and “Shop Till You Drop,” you are sure to find something special! Look for your copy at most downtown locations, the Chamber of Commerce, the Convention and Visitors Bureau, and of course, the DECI office located in City Hall. A downloadable version coming soon!

Updated Downtown Boundaries

DECI board has approved an updated map of downtown. The new downtown map now mirrors the areas of all downtown business improvement districts and includes the West Bank Redevelopment District as well. View it right here.
